Eligibility & exam timing
Who is eligible for a U.S. clinical rotation?
Medical students, recent graduates, and IMGs pursuing U.S. clinical experience may be eligible. Eligibility isn't a single yes/no — it depends on your stage of training, documentation, and each participating site's individual requirements, which is why we review every application individually.
Do I need to have completed USMLE Step 1 or Step 2 CK first?
Not always. Requirements differ by site — some accept applicants before Step 1, others require a passing score on one or both steps. Tell us your exam status and we'll match you against sites that fit where you are.
Does my ECFMG status affect eligibility?
Where a site's requirements reference ECFMG status, we factor that into planning. This is guidance related to a site's documentation requirements only — Redox does not control or guarantee ECFMG certification or eligibility outcomes.
Rotation types & locations
What types of clinical experiences are available?
Core rotations (Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Psychiatry, Family Medicine) and elective/subspecialty rotations, depending on the participating site and current availability.
Which locations does Redox currently work with?
Participating sites are located in the Chicago, San Antonio, Miami, NYC & Northern New Jersey, and Southern California regions. Availability, specialties, and dates at each region change and are not guaranteed — request current availability for your timeline.
Why don't you list hospital names up front?
Participating sites ask that their names stay confidential until a student is matched and onboarded, which helps preserve the quality of every placement. You're matched on fit, and full site details are shared once you're placed.
Timelines, documentation & pricing
How far in advance should I plan?
As early as possible — seats are limited and fill in advance, especially for competitive regions and specialties. Planning months ahead protects your preferred sites and dates.
What documents should I have ready?
A current CV, proof of enrollment or graduation, any completed exam scores, and — depending on the site — immunization and background-check documentation. Having these ready speeds up your review.
How much does a rotation cost?
Pricing varies by location, specialty, duration, and site — request current availability and we'll walk you through cost as part of your individual review.
