How it works
One loop, every study day
Learn a topic, test it, then keep it. Your practice exams tell you whether the plan is working.
- 1
Study plan
Set your exam date once. Your calendar hands you the day's topics and keeps everything before test day.
- 2
Concept Study
Read the topic's note, built around Redox figures, then switch to Recall and test yourself on the key points.
- 3
Questions
Answer that topic's questions and read every explanation, right or wrong.
- 4
Flashcards
Review the cards due today. Each one comes back on a schedule set by how well you knew it.
- 5
Practice exams
Put your NBME, UWSA and Free 120 dates on the calendar, record each score, and watch the trend.
Study calendar
A plan that fits your exam date
Pick your exam date and the days you study. Auto-schedule places every topic in order and never puts work past your exam. Each day opens its own Study Day page.
- Month, week and day views
- Study Day page: today's topics, flashcards due, your own readings and links, private session notes
- Move unfinished work to your next study day in one tap
4,900+ questions
Questions that feel like test day
More than 4,900 Step 1 questions with full explanations. Study in tutor mode with the explanation after each answer, or sit a timed, exam-style block.
- Strike out answer choices and highlight the stem
- Lab values a tap away, like on the real exam
- Build blocks by system, discipline and difficulty, or by unused and incorrect
Concept Study
Notes you can see working
Every topic has a Concept Study note built around interactive Redox figures. Tap through a pathway or a nephron and watch the idea move, then switch to Recall to check yourself.
- Interactive figures you can explore
- Recall mode blanks the key points for self-testing
- Practice this topic straight from the end of the note
Flashcards
Flashcards with the picture on them
Cards carry the same figures as the notes, so you remember the image as well as the fact. Rate each card and it comes back when you need it.
- Again, Hard, Good or Easy sets when a card returns
- Your due cards for the day are waiting on your Study Day page
Review my mistakes
Every miss, in one place
One tap on Review my mistakes builds a tutor block from the questions you got wrong, newest first, so your misses come back to you instead of getting lost.
- Pick a block size, or review the misses from one system
- Answer again before you see the explanation
Search
Find any topic fast
Search Concept Study notes, flashcards and practice questions at once when a term comes up and you want everything Redox has on it.
- One search box for notes, cards and questions
- Questions open in tutor mode, so you answer before you see the explanation
Progress and readiness
Know if the plan is working
Progress shows your accuracy this week against last week, your accuracy by system, and where to focus next. Record your practice exam scores and see your trend and pass chance at the top of your plan.
- Accuracy by system and Where to focus next
- Confidence check: questions you were sure of but got wrong
- Practice exam trend from the scores you record
Pass chance and readiness come from the practice scores you record. They are estimates, not predictions by the NBME, and we don't guarantee any score or result.
Dr. J Notes
The shortcut, beside the right answer
Dr. J Notes are exam-day teaching shortcuts from Dr. J, our Chief USMLE Content Advisor. They sit beside the board-correct answer, never in place of it, so you learn both what the exam expects and a quick way to remember it.
- Short memory cues for test day
- Always shown next to the board-correct explanation

How is this different from a plain question bank?
A question bank gives you questions. Redox gives you the whole day: a calendar paced to your exam, a note and figure to learn each topic, the questions for that topic, flashcards to keep it, and a place to see whether your practice scores are moving. Your misses come back to you instead of getting lost.
Do I need to be a certain age?
You must be at least 16 to use Redox. If you're 16 or 17, a parent or legal guardian needs to review and agree to the Terms of Service for you.
Is Redox affiliated with the NBME or USMLE?
No. Redox is independent. We don't provide NBME exam content, and we don't guarantee a score or passing result. Practice exam numbers in Redox come from the scores you enter from your own NBME, UWSA or Free 120 reports.
How do I get help?
Email support@redoxedu.com and the Redox team will get back to you. The Terms of Service and Privacy Policy are linked at the bottom of every page.
